-
Musical Shows. Cop Rock, a musical police drama (no
- kidding) is being offered by Steven Bochco), creator of Hill
- Street Blues and Doogie Howser. It's just one of three
- song-and-dance shows kicking around.
-

-
Lynch mobs. The success of David Lynch's eerie soap opera
- Twin Peaks has given new cachet to creativity. John Sayles has
- ventured into prime time with Shannon's Deal, and more film
- directors may be given a shot at bringing their art to TV.
-

-
Hollywood rip-offs. They drew crowds at the sixplex, but
- will viewers tune in every week? Proposed TV series based on
- Look Who's Talking, Parenthood, Big, Steel Magnolias, Uncle Buck
- and The Witches of Eastwick aim to find out.
-

-
Cartoons. The Simpsons is prompting a fresh look at
- animation in prime time. Being considered: a new version of The
- Pink Pnather. In the daytime, Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny join
- their kiddie alter-egos in Steven Spielberg's Tiny Toon
- Adventures.
-

-
Anchors away. The most riveting off-screen soap opera: Dan
- Rather and Tom Brokaw are suffering in the ratings. Jane Pauley,
- Diane Sawyer and Connie Chung have been impressive fill-ins. Is
- an anchor change in the offing?
